There is a FaceBook app that lets you post the name of a soldier who has died for his country. I did this and this is what was posted:
Then I got to thinking about who this man was and what had happened to him so I did a few minutes of research and this is what I was able to piece together.
Staff Sergeant Thomas William Truelove was born in 1941 in Johnson City, TN. He was a general vehicle repairman with the U.S Army and began his tour of Vietnam in January 1971. On September 19th, 1971 he was injured in a non-hostile vehicle crash in the Quang Nam Province of South Vietnam. He clung to life for two days before succumbing to his injuries. He was 30 years old and he left behind a wife.
I honor you and all our troops who have and still are serving our country.
Staff Sergeant Thomas William Truelove
April 09, 1941 to September 21, 1971
Many of you know my brother and SIL went to India for surrogacy a few years back. You may not know they have been the subject of a documentary chronicling that journey. Made In India premiered at the Toronto Hot Docs Film Festival this May to standing room only crowds. The video above is a local news channel interviewing them.
Riley will be 2 in six days. She is amazing.

This is one of my favorite pictures ever. I mislabeled it 2004 it’s actually from 2003.
This was a little over a year after we got together and Jase’s first trip up to MS with me to meet my extended family. We had JUST moved in together and he was getting the hang of the “Daddy” stuff.
A snot nose kid jumped in with both feet to help me raise 3 snot nosed kids.
I might have lost my mind lately but I have not lost my love for this amazing man.
It’s been 60 days since I have wrapped my lips around the end of a cigarette.
60 days of taking little blue pills that don’t cause erections.
60 days of eating non-stop and gaining about 15 pounds.
60 days of irrational fears surfacing either due to the meds I am taking to quit or the quitting itself.
60 days of waiting for this damn necklace to come in.

Has the 60 days of hell been worth it?
YOU DAMN STRAIGHT.

So we all know I am gaga for retro kitchen supplies. I’ve got about all the red I can handle but guess what I found the other day at Walmart? NEW COLORS. I bought the trashcans first because they were on clearance and didn’t really pay attention to the colors until I saw the aqua frying pan. I grabbed it up and took off. At $6 for a 12″ pan it was MINE. Esp. considering I’ve only ever had a 10″ to work with. I went back the next day hoping they’d still be there and got the Mango Sunrise and Warm Yellow ones. I was shocked when I got home and saw the pans match the cans.
I think I’m finally getting the whole coordinating thing. Who knew?!
