If you had a student that was tested for gifted classes would your school call a meeting with the parents and 5 different specialists if that student DIDN’T pass those tests?

Kyle was tested about a month ago at the request of his teacher and I just got a notice asking me to attend a meeting with:

An Exceptional Education Specialist

A Guidance Counselor

A Psychologist

His regular teachers

and a Staffing Specialist

It’s killing me not knowing and I have to wait until the 12th to attend this meeting.

I would like to go in there armed with questions if he was accepted as Gifted. If he wasn’t, it’s no big deal I just want to be an informed parent walking into that room.

Would the school go to the trouble of getting all those people into one room if the answer was a simple, “No, he didn’t do what was needed to be eligible?”

I know it might be different than the state or school district that you’re in but I would appreciate any insight at all.

I have a Cherry sign in my kitchen that says, “This kitchen was clean yesterday, sorry you missed it!”

Update! Here’s the pic. How cute is that?!

This is the one in the kids bathroom. I love rubber duckies!

I bought these signs on Ebay from Tina’s Creative Crafts

*UPDATE*

Okay I lied! I got 2 of them. The Child-proof and the Pill ones! Wheeeeeeeeee!

“Library quality paperbacks at low cost, identical to factory made books, printed direct from digital files for the reader in minutes, serving a radically decentralized world-wide multilingual marketplace. In essence, an ATM for books.”

“Launching today at Blackwell’s Charing Cross Road branch in London, the machine prints and binds books on demand in five minutes, while customers wait.”

Your local bookstore doesn’t carry the book you are so desperate to read. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO? You find yourself an Espresso Book Machine and print and bind yourself your very own copy in a matter of minutes.

I find this idea and this machine incredibly orgasmic. My life long dream is to have one room in my house filled with overflowing book shelves. If I win the lotto this will be my first purchase! Yes, even before a house and new bewbs. Even before I set my parents up for life. Sorry, Mom & Dad but a girls got NEEDS!

This machine is perfect for Indie authors like our very own Stirrup Queen Melissa Ford & Wil Wheaton.

I just looked up locations where you can find these machines and they have one in the New Orleans Public Library. Guess who’s taking a road trip when she goes to see her parents this summer. THIS GIRL!

1.

2.

Here are the ones I have picked out. I am thinking of getting 2 pair of the black wire metal ones. Only one will be square like the one pictured and one will be rounder. They are a lot like the ones I have now. Then getting one of the funky fun ones.

You guys get to vote on which fun pair I get! Choose #1 or #2!

Thanks to everyone who recommended Zenni Optical this might just save me! I’ll be able to see again! When I hug my outside cat now I can be sure it’s my cat and not a skunk!

Why I always make my font so large. It has to do with my almost 30 year old eyes seeing the same way my 60+ year old fathers eyes do. I could probably wear his prescription without a problem.

This is not usually a problem for me but the last few years I have been without insurance so no new glasses. I realize now how blind I really am.

Jase and I went to Walmart late last night to avoid the crowds. I snuck up behind him, goosed him real good and whispered some naughty things in his ear. Then I turned to danced away.

Only to run smack into his chest midturn. My eyes traveled up to meet his very amused gaze. “I see you’re making new friends all over the place!”

I turned around and looked at the guy I’d molested and he looked NOTHING like my Jase. He was laughing because he knew what had happened. Such a good sport!

I just wanted to sink into the floor never to be seen again.

I will be going for new glasses this week!
